Denis Hinds, Partner

Denis joined C E Chapman & Co as an articled clerk in 1970, becoming a partner in 1976, one year after his admission as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW. He has been the principal of the firm since 1980.


Denis has nearly 40 years experience in most areas of the law including litigation, property and estate matters but his main expertise is in commercial and business law, commercial leasing and liquor licensing matters.


With his extensive experience, Denis has been able to provide assistance and advice over the broad spectrum of legal issues encountered by his commercial clients in the conduct of their commercial enterprises.


As a dedicated practitioner of many years standing Denis has been pleased to act for consecutive generations of his many long standing clients.



Paula Homersham, Senior Solicitor/Associate

Paula initially joined the firm immediately after her admission as a solicitor in 1980 when she was involved in litigation, family law, estates and property matters. Subsequently she spent a period of years with one of Sydney’s large legal firms where she worked exclusively in family law. She has also worked for one of the largest cost consultancy firms as a senior costs assessor. Paula has extensive experience in the costs assessment procedures of the Supreme Court of NSW and has acted as a Court appointed costs expert in the District Court of NSW and as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of NSW.


Paula now focuses on litigation and estate matters. She is also responsible for finalising issues relating to costs orders in litigation matters where her expertise ensures that clients obtain the maximum benefit from costs orders made in their favour.



Frances Costantino, Senior Paralegal

Frances initially joined the firm as a junior receptionist/secretary in 1971. Frances quickly advanced to the role of paralegal, mainly working in the area of conveyancing, before retiring in 1985 to start a family. 


Frances returned to C E Chapman & Co in 2004 and has again assumed responsibility for conveyancing matters. She is also in charge of accounts administration and all aspects of office management. Frances also devotes a considerable amount of time to staff training and development.



Gabriella Panebianco, Paralegal

Gabriella obtained a Diploma in Business Administration from St Patrick’s Business College Sydney and joined C E Chapman & Co immediately after her graduation in 2005. She was initially employed as a junior secretary/receptionist and is now a paralegal and assistant to Paula in the areas of litigation and estate work. Gabriella also assists Frances in conveyancing matters.


In 2008 Gabriella completed The Law Society of New South Wales Legal Secretarial Program and hopes to undertake a Business (Legal Services) Diploma Course at TAFE in the future.



Deanna Kovac, Junior Paralegal

Deanna attended Williams Business College Sydney where she obtained a Diploma in Business Administration, majoring in Legal Secretarial Studies, in 2008.


Deanna joined C E Chapman & Co in 2009 as a junior secretary/receptionist. She has quickly developed her skills and knowledge and is now assisting Denis in the areas of commercial and business law.
